Guest Services Team Member

Adventure Parc Snowdonia

Surf Snowdonia launched in August 2015 and have since established ourselves as one of the most exciting adventure destinations in the UK. We have now evolved our offer beyond our world-first inland surf lagoon to include our brand-new indoor adventure hub Adrenaline Indoors. Our plans for 2020 also include a new offsite adventure offer which will encourage our guests to explore the beautiful landscapes that we’re lucky enough to have right on our doorstep.  We are also in the process of building Wales’ first Hilton Garden Inn which will only enhance our standing within North Wales Tourism.

Guest Services Job Description

Key responsibilities and tasks include

  • Deliver an exceptional customer service experience
  • Maintain great communication with other departments
  • Make sure the phones are answered promptly
  • Replying to emails, voicemails and call back messages
  • Dealing with a huge and varied range of customer enquiries
  • Forwarding customers to the correct department via the switchboard
  • Identifying and booking customers onto the correct wave for their skill/experience level
  • Checking customers in for their booked sessions or accommodation
  • Taking payments on the PDQ machines and cash handling. Cashing up at the end of the day
  • Updating customer records
  • General admin/office assistance when required
  • Occasional retail support
  • Working across 2 reception desks & our call centre
  • Must be able to recognise sales opportunities and be comfortable upselling to our customers
  • Be at ease listening and acting on customer feedback. Then provide this feedback to your team leaders and or management where appropriate

Skills – Essential

  • Solid experience in a customer facing roll
  • Ambitious, determined, self-motivated with a can-do attitude.
  • Energetic personality with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to think on your feet in a fast-paced role
  • Friendly and team player
  • Not afraid to ask questions
  • Willingness to work hard (incl. weekends, bank holidays and evening work)
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts between 7:30am and 9pm over 7 days per week

Skills – Desirable

  • Knowledge of online booking systems
  • Surf knowledge or interest
  • Other languages (Welsh, Spanish, French, German and Italian)

Type of Contract: Seasonal roles starting in March 2020 through to September / December 2020.

Main Purpose of the Job:  The role will be working in a dynamic environment with responsibility for the efficient and safe running of all surf lagoon operations, ensuring customers receive an outstanding experience and level of customer service.

Main accountabilities:

  • Ensure ‘best practice’ in all customer interactions.
  • Conduct surfing lessons with our beginner, intermediate and advanced customers.
  • Ensure safe and appropriate running of all activities, leading from the front to deliver ‘the perfect session.’
  • Outside of lessons patrol the lagoon offering guidance and advice to surfers.
  • When required carry out lifeguarding duties on the lagoon.
  • As required, carry out appropriate safety checks of all equipment.
  • Maintain a tidy and proper working environment for all staff and customers.
  • Confidently deal with and report any first aid and accidents.
  • Always represent the company in the correct way.
  • Any other duties as appropriate.

Essential Requirements and skills

  • An energetic, confident, friendly and motivated personality.
  • Currently hold or willing to work towards the ISA or ASI level 1 or 2 surf instructor qualification.
  • Currently hold or willing to work towards the SLSGB or SLSWA beach lifesaving certificate. We run these courses ourselves on site.
  • Highly focused on delivering excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work using your own initiative, autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • A flexible approach to work with a positive attitude.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts between 8am-8pm. Weekends and school holidays are our busiest times, the hours for this role will reflect this.

  • Maintain a tidy and proper working environment for all staff and customers.
  • Confidently deal with, and report any first aid and accidents.
  • To always represent the company in the correct way.
  • Attend frequent training sessions.
  • Any other duties as appropriate.

Essential Requirements and skills

The successful candidate will be working in a dynamic environment with responsibility for preparing and cooking breakfast our

surf side bar and kitchen and preparing a variety of snacks for our surf side deli and adrenaline indoors café, ensuring high food safety standards are worked to.

Main accountabilities:

  • Ensure ‘best practice’ in all aspects of food preparation and cooking.
  • Ensure food safety processes are adhered to at all times.
  • Prepare and cook customers breakfast.
  • Prepare a variety of snacks (for example sandwiches, wraps, cakes, soups, sausage rolls etc) for our Deli and café.
  • Prepare food for birthday parties.
  • Lead from the front and deliver ‘The perfect dining experience.’
  • Take delivery of stock and put these away in storage areas.
  • Maintain a tidy and proper working environment.
  • Always represent the company in the correct way.
  • Any other duties as appropriate.

Essential Requirements and skills

  • An energetic, confident, friendly and motivated personality.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
  • Food safety level 1 or 2 qualification.
  • Highly focused on delivering an excellent customer experience.
  • Ability to work using your own initiative, autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • A flexible approach to work with a positive attitude.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts between 6am-4pm. Weekends and school holidays are our busiest times, hours to reflect this.

  • Supervise the kitchen team in the absence of the head chef.

  • Maintain a tidy and proper working environment for all staff and customers.
